Infant of Prague :)

I bought this amazing Infant of Prague statue at a flea market for 3.00. Love it...surrounded it with beautiful ivory candles. Light them on special occasions :) The mirror behind the statue was brown when I found it in our old cellar when we bought our house....used some white spray paint and wala...a shabby mirror to compliment my statue and candles.

Religious Art :)

LOve....LOve....LOve religious art. Guess where I bought it? You got it! A thrift store for .50 cents. Because of the frames ivory border, I thought it looked nicely sitting against the maroon wall. TIP: TRY TO ALWAYS CONTRAST....THIS MAKES THE ITEM THAT YOU ARE DISPLAYING REALLY POP...LIKE THE IVORY FRAME AGAINST THE DARK WALL :)

A Stunning Centerpiece :)

This stunning centerpiece is composed of 1.) A ruby mosaic vase given to me by my mother 2.) Fake green berries (Simply Berries Collection from Michaels) 3.) And to top it off, a 100-year old gravitational heat vent that was in our house before we remodeled. I thought the modern arrangement looked nice with this distressed piece. Look at the design of the vent~ isn't it simply wonderful! :)

Hurry up~ there is one up for grabs on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290524139217+

It's All About the Little Things!

It's so important to personalize your home with memories, photographs, trinkets, and treasures that remind you of the important things in life. The diamond frame I have sitting on my computer desk, was bought for $1 at a dollar store (the photograph incased is my husband and I on our wedding day), the impressionist painting was purchased for $1 at a thrift store and the book "Sonnets from the Portuguese was .50 at a flea market! I love vintage books~one of my favorite things to collect and display! :) IMPORTANT TIP: FOR A MORE UPDATED LOOK, TRY MIXING A VINTAGE ITEM WITH A MORE MODERN ITEM (here I mixed the impressionist painting with the new diamond frame)

My Compilation of Vintage Glass Bottles

I found these beautiful glass bottles at various flea market and thrift store locations. What's amazing about this collection is that after I hung the shelf up and arranged them, my mom told me that my grandmother had a similar collection and loved the look of old bottles! :)

The Flea's Oath....The 4 Golden Rules

(Put your right hand up in the air) and say "I (reader) solemly swear by the oath of the flea's to obey and follow the steps in accordance of the FleaMarketer's House Rules:

#1
I willingly accept that my home will never look like the inside of a Pottery Barn magazine...but close. Why would I want to change my curtains in accordance to the holidays anyway?

#2
I will donate, donate, donate. Why? To get rid of clutter, of course. Also, so other people may enjoy my once cherished items that will fit the attire of their flea-market home. (What? YOU SAY THAT YOU LOVE THAT BLUE CERAMIC ELEPHANT YOUR GRANDMOTHER GAVE YOU.....well here's a fun idea, spray-paint it according to the accent colors in your house).

#3
I wont spend more than $300 in decorating items in a year's time. This means bedding, rugs, wall art, vases, furniture, mirrors, etc. We will survive this....I swear.

#4
I will have fun....fun.....fun.....until daddy takes the t-bird away (Beach boy fans anyone??? Bueller...Bueller......Bueller? Decorating is fun....especially when your not spending $6o on a blue-striped pillowcase. Can you say ridiculous? :)

The Nest :)

Our Nest! Isn't it cute.....it would be even better with curved stone stairs in front of a intricate vintage, white screen door! Hey....a girl can dream!
